MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Job Coach - SWE to join our St Peters Career Center team! The ideal candidate will support our mission, "Changing Lives Through the Power of Work!" and embody our core values of respect, excellence, and integrity. 

 

The SWE Program helps support young participants with disabilities by providing summer employment training. As a SWE Job Coach, you'll spend your time in the community, traveling within the area to meet with youth participants and employers at work sites.

 

Job Coaches are responsible for helping participants acclimate to various work environments while they gain experience and develop new skills. The program spans six weeks from June to July, and selected candidates must attend training sessions in April and May. Please note that this is a part-time position, and the working hours are 20-25 hours per week. 

 

Qualifications

 

  • A high school degree is required; an associate's/bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Experience working in social services with individuals with disabilities is required. Experience working with youth with disabilities is preferred.
  • Excellent time management and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must possess a current First Aid and CPR certification or be willing to obtain one upon hire. Training will be provided if needed.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

 

  • Works alongside a group of participants as needed to assist with meeting employer expectations with regard to task completion and speed.
  • Problem-solve to create accommodations or other ways to address performance issues.
  • Support participants in developing and maintaining relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Maintain contact with the MERS/Goodwill Case Manager assigned to the participant to report progress and difficulties.
  • Complete daily observations and agency documentation that consists of participant timesheets and weekly evaluations.
  • Utilize time at the work site to complete all necessary documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
