Qualifications
- Training & Experience: Five years of experience in higher education, leadership development, organizational development, human resources consultant or business partner, coach, training, or relevant leadership role required. Relevant certifications are preferred. Ability to obtain/maintain certifications is required, such as DDI and Mental Health First Aid.
- Computer & Software: Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications, LMS administration, and web conferencing. Content authoring tool usage preferred.
- License or Certificate: Valid state driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance required. Must be able to travel within territory (Missouri and Illinois).
- Physical/Sensory Demands: Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Work is routinely performed in office environments.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Facilitate in-person classroom learning and web-based webinars in leadership, personal, and professional development.
- Utilize effective questioning techniques to assess progress, elicit reactions, and confirm understanding while encouraging participation by creating a safe environment.
- Consult and coach employees on personal development and leadership development initiatives.
- Select, develop, create, and write learning solutions to include demonstration models, audio/visual aids, handouts, and guides that help improve learning outcomes for training initiatives.
- Coordinate training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the department.
- Work with stakeholders to understand the development needs of leaders, assess individual development, and implement solutions across the organization.
- Use coaching techniques that increase collaboration, transparency, and promote a culture of learning.
- Assess trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
- Revise and rewrite content to shape for learning needs.
- Report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods. Record and maintain trainee personnel records.
- Partner with Training Specialists, Business Leaders, and Operational teams to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
- Assist employees with problems concerning “how to” perform specific tasks related to their positions.
- Analyze the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and apply their use in an instructional environment to design engaging and interactive courses.
- Utilize Learning Management System to engage with learners and track learning.
- Follow and enforce all MERS/Goodwill policies & procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
