Qualifications
- A bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems.
- Strong proficiency in Windows server and desktop operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, IP addressing, DHCP, and data transmission.
- Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with backup and recovery software.
- Ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot both software and hardware.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
This position will serve as a second level of escalation for the service desk. The person assigned will also take over management of on-premises servers and processes. They will work closely with the service desk and the Systems Administrator to ensure the environment is up to date and secure.
- Teir 2 technical support – Help users with problems that are more complex than the service desk has time to complete
- User Management – Manage user licenses and onboarding
- Add users to various Cloud apps that are not currently fully integrated into Entra
- Install and Configure Systems – Create new servers as needed, create updated Windows images for service desk, and manage updates for servers
- Monitor Backups – Verify backups and replication are functioning in the Veeam console and add any new servers needed to the backup environment.
- Monitor O365 Backups – Test O365 tenant backups and ensure that new users are added to the backup list.
- Respond to monitoring to proactively resolve problems prior to being notified by end users.
