Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business or a related field or equivalent experience. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., PL-200 Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate) is a plus. Two years of experience in business intelligence, financial reporting, or accounting analytics. 

Proficient in Power BI: capable of data modeling, using DAX, creating dashboards, and managing data sources. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Query, and SQL is required. Demonstrate ability to work with large datasets, perform variance analysis, and present financial data in business terms. Comfortable working independently, managing multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across departments to gather business requirements, aligning reporting tools with organizational financial goals and compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for donated goods retail, accounting, and operations teams, focusing on KPIs such as budget vs. actuals, revenue trends, cost allocations, and operational efficiencies.
  • Act as a lead point of contact for financial data reporting, providing end-users with clear documentation, visual insights, and training on report navigation.
  • Partner with all teams to maintain semantic models and metadata documentation to boost discoverability of reporting for data agents.
  • Drive data quality standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness across financial data sources.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in data reporting.
  • Extract and transform data from SQL databases for trend analysis, forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Translate business questions into financial insights, using Power BI to communicate complex metrics in accessible formats.
  • Guide finance and operations stakeholders in understanding data hierarchies, measures, and visual analytics.
  • Collaborate with IT and business analytics teams to ensure financial data structures align with organizational strategy and compliance needs.
