Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in database administration with traditional RDBMS. Strong understanding of database performance optimization and troubleshooting. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Demonstrates strong motivation and aptitude for learning new technologies, particularly Azure cloud services and Databricks. Familiarity with scripting (e.g., SQL, PowerShell) is a plus.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain traditional database systems, ensuring their performance, security, and availability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and data integrity problems.
- Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
- Enforce access controls and security best practices for databases.
- Undertake dedicated training and hands-on experience to administer, monitor, and maintain Azure Databricks workspaces and clusters.
- Learn to manage Unity Catalog for centralized data governance and access control within Databricks.
- Gain proficiency in integrating Databricks with Azure Active Directory (AAD) for robust identity management.
- Understand and utilize Azure cloud services relevant to data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Virtual Networks, Azure Monitor).
