About the Role
The Specialized Resource Navigator - Employment & SkillUP Specialist is employed by MERS Goodwill serving residents of Phoenix Family-supported housing communities in achieving employment and career goals. This position will be on location across Phoenix Family communities and MERS Goodwill providing coaching, SkillUP services, resource coordination, barrier removal, employment, and increase economic mobility.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three years of experience in workforce development, employment services, case management, community outreach, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment and economic mobility.
- Ability to learn and administer workforce development programs, including Missouri SkillUP.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout the Kansas City area.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide career coaching, job search assistance, résumé support, interview preparation, and workforce readiness services.
- Connect participants to employment opportunities, workforce training, certifications, apprenticeship programs, and educational resources.
- Administer Missouri SkillUP services, including participant assessment, employment planning, case management, documentation, and progress monitoring.
- Coordinate supportive services and resources that remove barriers to employment and training success.
- Collaborate with Phoenix Family staff, employers, workforce agencies, training providers, and community partners.
- Develop referral networks and employment opportunities that support participant success.
- Maintain accurate participant records and outcome data.
- Support grant performance goals through timely reporting, compliance activities, and continuous professional development.
