Qualifications
- Minimum three years’ experience in manufacturing, production, industrial maintenance, or related field required.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety, quality systems, production processes, and measurement.
- Comfort with applied math, technical problem solving, and foundational physics concepts as related to manufacturing.
- Experience training, mentoring, or leading teams preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to teach or facilitate learning for adult learners.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically.
- Comfortable using digital tools and online curriculum platforms.
- Experience working with individuals with barriers to employment is preferred.
- Willingness to obtain or maintain relevant manufacturing or instructional certifications as required by the program (e.g., SME Certified Manufacturing Associate or related industry credentials).
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Deliver manufacturing-focused instruction aligned with entry-level and advancing industry standards.
- Prepare participants for employment in manufacturing and progression into advanced technical pathways.
- Teach safety, quality, blueprint reading, measurement, applied math, and technical concepts in a practical format.
- Reinforce workplace expectations including attendance, teamwork, accountability, and problem solving.
- Support participant readiness for advanced manufacturing training including robotics, automation, or industrial maintenance pathways.
- Monitor student progress, track attendance, and maintain required documentation.
- Provide coaching and individualized support to improve retention and credential attainment.
- Collaborate with Employment Specialists to support successful employment placement.
- Maintain organized, safe, and industry-aligned classroom and lab environments.
- Participate in curriculum refinement and program development as the manufacturing pathway expands.
- Deliver instruction in scheduled cohort-based classes (typically 6-week in-person training cohorts offered multiple times throughout the year.)
- Support program performance goals related to participant retention, credential attainment, and employment outcomes
- Other duties as assigned.
