MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Director of Program (SCSEP) to join our SCSEP - GII - MO team! The SCSCEP Director of Program leads and oversees the federally funded Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), making sure the program runs smoothly and stays in compliance with GII and U.S. Department of Labor requirements. This role manages the program budget and handles ongoing financial oversight, reporting, and case file review while building strong relationships with funders and community employers. The Director works closely with off-site staff, providing guidance, support, and supervision, and steps in to help resolve conflicts or grievances when needed. Travel throughout Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois to support staff and community partners is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social services (master's degree preferred) with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Requires supervisory and leadership abilities, the ability to observe and work well with people, and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

  • Trains staff in agency policies and procedures, motivate and lead staff.
  • Maintains working knowledge of CARF or other governing body standards and ensures their implementation on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintains knowledge of Federal, State, and internal guidelines and policy to ensure compliance and implementation.
  • Develops and maintains active partnerships with funding sources on both a programmatic and administrative level.
  • Monitors assessment of program quality and utilizes results to improve individual participant planning, as well as programmatic planning and development.
  • Reviews documentation related to team workload, such as case notes and/or billing if appropriate for staff supervised, to ensure quality services and maximum utilization of staff.
  • Ensures all assignments are completed on time and that appropriate duties are delegated and followed up on.
  • Shows ability to effectively manage staffing patterns given financial and program outcome information and to ensure that income and expenses of location are within a reasonable variance (+/-10% within lines, neutral or positive net year to date) of budget. Analyzes and discusses recommendations with supervisor when performance varies from budget.
  • Maintains an active caseload outcome according to program expectations.
  • As appropriate, participates in discussion and development of best practices with other leadership to standardize where possible and advance the performance and reach of the agency.
  • Responsible for meeting program outcomes and grant/program requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
